"Discuss your reasons for choosing the book you chose. Did the book deliver?" I chose to read the DaVinci code, because my dad had read it and had recommended it to me. I'd also heard of it, and been wanting to read it. This blog project finally pushed me to start it, and I ended up really enjoying it. I'm not quite sure what I was expecting when I decided to read the book. It definitely turned out to be a lot different from what I had originally thought it was going to be.

What about the book did you enjoy? Also before you started reading the book what did you think it was going to be about?
ReplyDeleteI liked how the book was like a giant puzzle. You couldn't make much sense of it until you saw what all the pieces looked like. And, I thought it was going to be something like Chasong Vermeer. Maybe historians or people of whatever looking for a lost piece of art. I'm not entirely sure. The back wasn't too descriptive so my expectations didn't really fit in a mold of sorts.
ReplyDeleteOkay. So here's the question: What about all the stuff about the Church? How much of it is true? That was the part that really intrigued me when I read it. And, in fact, after the book was published, there were a bunch of religious groups that were very anti the book. Were they upset because the book casts the Church in a bad light, or were they upset because they didn't want certain things exposed? Not being a scholar of Christian texts, I can't really say. But I'd be interested to hear your--or anyone's--thoughts.
