Ok, so recently, as I continue to read the book, I've had more suspicions. One suspicion was that Sophie herself was a descendant of Jesus and therefore maybe she was the Grail. Hence her nickname "Princess Sophie" and her grandfather being the grandmaster of the Priory. Although, when Robert mentioned the whole thing about certain last names, I held on to the idea of Sophie being the Grail, but I didn't think about it as much. Tonight, watching a certain episode of The Simpsons, I realized that they had included some similarities to the DaVinci Code. They had Lisa solve an anagram, and included hidden secrets in history about the Church, but what really gave away the fact that they were doing a spoof on the DaVinci Code was when Mr. Burns (a Simpsons' character) made some comment about his assistant being albino (his assistant wasn't actually). This last reference totally confirmed that it was making fun of the DaVinci Code. So, then, Lisa turned out to think that she was the special jewel. Although, of course, Maggie turned out to be the jewel, but I don't think that part had anything to do with the DaVinci Code. But, thanks to The Simpsons, I'm back to my idea that Sophie is actually the Grail. I guess we'll see, because I still don't know for sure. Gotta love The Simpsons, right?!
